Title is self-explanitory. The best book I read, well I have two because they're closely tied. 13 Bullets by David Wellington. A really great, and scary, vampire novel. And the best part is that the vampires aren't sympathetic or beautiful. They're really and truely monsters, like they should be.
Under the Dome by Stephen King. This is one of the best Stephen King novels I've read, and that's saying something! If you get the chance you should read it!

Oh, Jesus... I read a lot of books, so let me try to think of the best...
I think one of the best books I read was The Cheese Monkeys by Chip Kidd. It was hard to understand, but it was still awesome.
Some other awesome books were The Witches of Chiswick and The Fandom of the Operator by Robert Rankin. They were hilarious, but they still had some really touching themes and messages, which is getting very rare in satire these days. They were also some of the most intelligent and well-done satires/parodies that I've ever seen.
